Jan 15th Thursday
Brigade dress parade and drill in the morning. There was no other drill or duty except Dress parade. the wind has blowed hard all day but it is a very warm wind. Wrote a letter to mother. Wrote a letter for henry Landing drawed a pair of pants no 1. 16th Friday during last night it rained very hard but cleared up this morning. There was nothing to do today except Regiment Inspection in the afternoon on dress parade it was read that Samuel Healsey of Co K had been promoted to Sargeant [sic] major
