Jan 6th Tuesday
about four o’clock AM two of company cam into camp having shot themselves accidently both was shot through the right hand they was on posts adjoining each other Their names are James Weinwright and David Moore. About noon the company came in the boys were all hungry and in a great hurry to have their rations dealt out to them. Some of them said that they had nothing to eat since yesterday in the morning. Ben Ross and myself cut up the meat and dealt it out
