7th Sunday.
Very cold weather. Robert Sylvester was buried with military honors. he was a married man and leaves five children. the smoke is awful and it is very cold. the third regiment sutler just got in today with supplies. the officers can get liquor and a good many of them are quite drunk. We drew two days rations of tacks.
8th Monday.
Mart Kintner George V. Huff and myself was detailed for orderlies at the colonels Tent drew one days ration of fresh beef and one of potatoes.
