9th Tuesday
was relieved about eight Am company Inspection at 3PM clear but quite cold In afternoon we drew three days rations and was ordered to have them cooked and be ready to move at a moments notice. A great many think that we are going on board of transports and go on some expedition from the fact of our cooking our rations. Others say that we are going to cross the Rappahannock at fredericksburg. all is bustle and excitement we had twenty rounds of cartridges extra issued to us received a letter from Gabriel Furgerson.
