Rappahannock. Lieut Shimer stayed with us at night.
5th.
In the morning it commenced to rain. We had orders to move our tents and put them on a line during the day the rain turned to hail and snow and continued untill [sic] late in the night. I think that it was the most disagreeble [sic] storm that we have had since we have been out. There was a mail today some of the boys got boots by the mail. There was four pair for our company. I was detailed for to put up the fly for the hospital tent. I got wet through in doing it. Yesterday we passed white oak church drew one days ration of fresh beef.
