Near where we stopped last night was a small log house and early in the morning our crowd consisting of Lieuts. Vanvoy and Shimer, J.P. Kelly, N.W. Savacool, Mart Kintner G.A. Stuart D. Johnston and myself JS McCarter was with us cleaned it out built a fire and moved in. We had just got everything fixed to suit us and along came the 121st New York to relieve us and we had to pack up and move out. it was about 12 M and we started for camp which was full five miles where we arrived about five PM. The mud was half knee deep nearly all of the way. after we got in camp we drew three days rations, a brass band for the brigade arrived at night.
