tents. It was about four o’clock PM and started through the mud when we got to the place where we was to be stationed it was dark there was only two posts taken from the right of Co. I the rest was held for reserves. it was very dark and raining hard everything was wet and we had hard work to get a fire lit. but we got one started after a great deal of trouble and then we put up our tents but we did not sleep any for we was all wet through and mud up to our knees we built a big fire and set by it all night. It rained hard all night.
