5th.
Reville [sic] at 6 AM. Drawed two days rations commenced marching about 12 M. The day was cool and marching nice we marched about 9 miles today. Camped for the night about 6 PM in a [sic] open field. Passed through bloomsfield a small town of about twelve or fifteen houses. Last night there was a very heavy frost.
6th.
Reville [sic] at 6 AM. Had orders to march at eight but did not get started untill [sic] about half past Eleven. It was said that Stuart’s rebel cavalry threatened our supply train so the fifthteen [sic] and twenty third regiments was detailed for rear guard. Brig. Gen. Gen. Tolberts [sic] was in the rear with his staff and body guard. Three peices [sic] of Heximers Battery was in the rear also. Camped on White Plains near the station about 6 PM having marched about fourteen miles drawed two days rations. Camped on an open field on the South side of the railroad track.
