26th.
Received twenty five dollars bounty money. Visitors from Newton D.S. McCarter and George S. McCarter Chas. Bonnell. 27th.
Got a furlough to go home but before i got away from Flemington orders came from headquarters for the regiment to leave for the seat[?]-­‐of-­‐war. Therefore i had to go back to camp had a likeness taken in Flemington.
28th.
Ordered to be prepared to march at five o’clock of the 29th. [written on top of this:] sent a letter to mother send 15 dollars send in with Wm. Cymmim[?] wife also sent my clothes by Chas. Bonnell.
29th:
Commenced striking tents at 3 o’clock A.M. By 6 AM the regiment was prepared to march. Marched to Flemington at 8 AM left there at 12 M. changed cars at Lambertsville. Was treated with refreshments by the citizens arrived at Philadelphia at 7.30 PM. Took supper at soldiers rest left there at about 11 o’clock PM arrived at baltimore at about 7 AM of the 30th. Got breakfast at soldiers rest Bought my rubber blanket there left there at 2 PM arrived at Washington at 7 PM took supper at soldiers rest slept on the floor but was very tired and slept good.
