9th.
Heavy shower in afternoon went on fair ground and washed clothes.
10th.
Prepared for inspection. Wrote a letter to D. Father H.
11th.
Worked on the parade ground.
12th.
Was detailed for guard about 11 o’clock P.M. eleven recruits came into camp, among them was James S. McCarter, Chas. C. Simpson, Martin Kintner. In afternoon went to Flemington to get a tooth pulled and bought a pair of canvass shoes for $1.50. 13th.
Was relieved of guard. Was sick.
14th.
A picknick [sic] party from Readington came upon the ground. Got my likeness taken, the first I ever had taken.
15th.
James McDougle came in camp during night. Harrison Cole came into camp but left early in morning.
16th.
Was detailed for provost guard in Flemington. Duties of provost Guard is to arrest all soldiers without a pass or those that have expired passes. Arrested one soldier was on duty from 9 AM untill [sic] 9 PM.
