20th Wensday
Parked last night at the foot of the mountain about a quarter of a mile from the village. Order to move early this morning. Did not get started until one oclock PM. Got half way up the mountain and was ordered down again to last night's parking ground. The troops crossed the river in the valley today. They are having some hard fighting today. About ten oclock PM was ordered to move out again. Got started about half past ten taking the pike for Leesburg. Passing through Perceyvill and Hamilton.
