20th Monday
Order to issue one days rations each say. Took ____ to the front. Issued potatoes and cabbage in ____. Found our brigade just in front of the city of Petersburgh[sic]. Issued in front of a fort that is situated on a hill. There was a negro hung in the morning in front of the fort and was left hanging until three or four in the afternoon. Got through issuing at dusk and ___ to park about eight oclock.
