Clear and very hot today. The second Regt. lays near the trains. Officer Salen(?) is quite brisk(?). Reloading wagons and getting a train ready to go to the white house after supplier. There is a ____ near ____. Some cannonading today. Wrote a letter to mother. The train that went to the front yesterday got back today(?). _____ a guide(?) a lot of ____ today. Officers and men around park are _____ pretty ____. Had my clothes washed today.
