Started about seven olcock passsed through a small town called Elliotstown. Crossed the Pamunky River at Hanover about noon and found our train about a mile from the river. As soon as we got in camp sent three days rations to the front. I believe our corps is about seven miles from here. The second Regt. is relieved and are with the train. They are going to the whitehouse to take ____ for home. Recived[sic] a letter from Aunt Mary and one from Mary _____. Saw father(?) today.
