May 26th Thursday
Rained hard and steady in the morning. In the afternoon the whole train was ordered to move. At the same time I started to the front with rations. Crossed the _____ river. Found our division at Chesterfield station. They moved on as soon as we got through issuing. Found our trains parked at Milford Station. It was half past twelve oclock when we got in. I never saw such a hungry ____ of men and officers as our appeared to be today.
