9th Monday
Got started about seven oclock. Came back to where we left the plan road Stopped there an hour and then went on toward Fredericksburg about a mile and parked. Some cannonading in the front of ua. Gen. Burnside and his command passed us today going down the plank road toward Fredericksburg. Clear and awful hot today. The roads are very dusty. Send a wagon to the front to issued to the ___ ___ Guard.
