Supply train started for
martinsburg about Seven
Capt Conven went to load
the Division tarin
Started to the front with
the train about eight o clock
parked at middletown
for the night understand
that the corps is at
Front Royal
The Guerrilas (sic) as attacked
our advance between
Newtown and Middletown
killing three of our men
and several. (sic) Capturing
the mail ambulance
Lt Col Lawler* was badly
wounded in the head
Surgeon Rockersbough* in
the side. both are fatal
