March 11th, Friday.
Cloudy all day. Light rain in the morning and heavy thunder showers in the morning
in the afternoon and evening. Issued three days rations. Heard today that Capt
Wheelan has been exchanged and is now in Washington. Expect that Lieut. Bradford
will be exchanged next week.
12th, Saturday.
Clear and pleasant today. There was nothing issued. Supply train went to cthe
station.Quartermaster Layne went to washington this afternoon on a three days
leave of absence. Very dull and dreary today. Wrote a letter to Richards & Co.
New York. Quartermaster Crane is in charge now.
