March 7th, Monday.
Clear and pleasant today. Issued two days soft bread and potatoes. Supply
train went to the station. Brought up a half barrel of pickled pigs feet. There
is to be two horses raffled off tonight. There is a large lot of officers on
hand. Champaigne puch and Egg Nag is the order of the night.
8th, Tuesday.
Cloudy and light rain in the morning. Cleared off in the afternoon. Issued
three days rations. Frank Douglass in Q.M. Dept. is promoted to Captain and AQM.
Had a very large time here last night. Had my boots half solded and toe capped
today.
