7th Saturday

Clear and cold. very high

wind. got up early and loaded

our wagons. got started a little

after eight o'clock took the road

leading southeast of Warrenton

Passed gregg's division of cavalry

and flying artillery. They was

going towards warrenton.

about three oclock we stopped

near a belt of woods. fed and

watered the team. had dinner

there. After the team was fed we

moved on about three quarters of

a mile when we came to the rail-
road at bealton station. when

we first stopped we heard an

awful fire of artillery and it

was kept up untill dark. It was very

heavy. the railroad here is all

torn up and the ties and rails all

carried off or destroyed. Bought a

MacClellau saddle for two dollars.
