Oct 27 Tuesday Clear but quite cold today went out to the brigade and issued three days rations making eight days that the men have on hand --- on to- morrow morning . Issued half rations of whiskey of Potatoes --- whiskey Potatoes soft Bread for officer sales There was an awful rush after the whiskey and bread Got back about three oclock when we had to go with sales wagons to the third regt while it is in town i did not get through untill dark It was very cold last night Ice froze on our water buckets half an inch thick
