Oct 14th Thursday Traveled all night. roads was very bad. Arrived at Brentsville about six this morning. parked and fed the teams. started on about Eleven oclock. passed through Brents- ville. Traveled through the fields. very bad going. Crossed th accatink and occoquan streams about dark we heard some very heavy cannonading. the Second Corps train was attacked today was on the road all day did not stop at all. the teams was not unhitched at night. although we did nto move at all. on the chantilla road about eight miles from here. started about dark and got ut,, to the brigade about ten oclock. Issued and sold to the officers did not get through
