May 25 Thursday
Started at five A.M. Our Division has the right of the column[.] It is so very warm today that many of the men are struck down by the heat. Crossed the Pamunkey river on pontoons. Camped at three o'clock at Chesterfield Station where our division tore up the railroad nearly one year ago I Issued rations here at that time.
