May 1 Monday
Clear and very pleasant Issued three days rations. Order to move in the morning our division is going between Burksville Junction and Petersburg. It is understood that the troops go on the cars and the wagon train goes on the turnpike. The Jersey band serenaded us tonight . Lieut Woodruff and Mart Kintner took supper with me. Have not had a mail since we have been here. mailed two papers (the sixth corps)to mother and one to ________ _
