went in park along the US M RR between 6th corps Headquarter and Headquarter 3rd Brigade 1st Div 6 corps the Brigade sales wagons and the division herd went to the front one ration of whiskey was ordered to be issued. Saw a great many rebel prisoners going to the rear 10 o ' clock p.m. The firing has entirely ceased. Along the line our corps extend to the Appomatox above Petersburg. The 9th corps have taken all but one line in front of them. Never was more endurance shown or harder fighting done than that by the 9th corps. They having been under continual fire since 11 o'clock last night. Genl Warren has been relieved for refusing to charge with Sheridan.
