17th Friday It rained all night and all day today. Issued one days rations of hard bread coffee sugar dried apples saop salt and candles. I received this diary from home today I have kept my diary in issuing book up to this date Officers sales are very brisk today got a commissary guard today there is six men. Supply train went to the landing and after loading they parked there for it is expected that we will move down in the morning. the pontoon bridges are laid and troops are passing over.
