26th Sunday
Clear and pleasant today The Govener [sic] and his staff reviewed the brigade today State Colors was presented to the first; second; and third Regiments after a short speech by the Govener [sic], in which he praised the first Brigade very much. particularly for the charge at Crampton Gap after reviewing the Regts he Inspected the camps. After dinner all the officers went to the second brigade. they all came back late at night and all very tight. after dinner I went out to a farm house and bought three pounds of tobacco ( [illegible] leaf at 75 cents a pound)
