March 1st Sunday
It rained quite hard during last night but cleared off nice this morning. Isaac Parliment[?] got a furlough today. I wrote to mother and sent the letter by him.
2nd Monday
I received a box from home by express. The things in it was very nice except the small cake being broken up some. Nothing spoiled in it.
