5th Thursday
This morning it commenced to snow. it was quite cold the wind was from the North East – the ground was frozen hard and it had every appearance of being good sleighing. but in the afternoon it got warmer and the snow turned to rain making it very sloppy and bad traveling. This is my first day in the commissary department. have been quite busy all day. like it very well. I sell 6 officers on orders. after supper I went over to the company to see the boys. 9 PM it is raining quite hard now snow nearly all gone. I sleep with Isaac Parliment[?].
