Jan 9th Friday
To day The Woodruff and myself got excused from duty and we went to work to stockade our tents we worked all day but did not get out it finished we had company drill in the morning and battallion [sic] drill in the afternoon and dress parade at night. but we did not attend either of them. at night we drew one days rations. Mart Kintner cooked for us to day. For dinner we had pot pie Coffee and hard tacks for supper we had beef stake coffee and hard tack
