and a good long talk about old times when we was together in Newark and Brooklin after dinner we went around and saw all of my friends and had a good long talk with them. We started back for our camp about three PM. we passed General Franklins head q we got back to our camp about half past three and found that the right wing of our regiment had gone out on picket. They went about half an hour before we got in we was very much surprised and did not know what to do but the adjutant told us to stay and guard the camp the wing went out in a great hurry.
