had quarrel or a harsh word we always agreed in everything. I am very sorry that he is going to Leave me now. The cooks have to tent together near the cook house. There was two mails today the order respecting the cooks was countermanded.
4th Sunday
at ten o’clock this morning we had regimental Inspection by Leiut [sic] Col Campbell. after Inspection Ben Ross and myself went to the 27th Regt distance about two miles in the direction of Falmouth we got there about noon I ate dinner with my old friend Gustus Le Treche a drummer of the 27th. we had a first rate dinner
