13 Saturday.
About four o’clock AM we was waked up and told to get our breakfast for the fires had to be put out within an hour, about eight AM we fell in line and marched up the opposite side of the gully from where we came in to it after we got up we marched out on the plain to where there is two barns and a house a little farther on was four small houses in a row here we was divided in wings. The left wing under Major Brown and the right under the Lieut Col the right wing went out on picket from where we was we could see the rebels on the hills beyond us. we releived [sic] the 96th PA and after we had stood about four hours the 50th Pennsylvania releived [sic] us, when we
