Dec. 11th.
Thursday Was waked up and had reville [sic] at 4 AM after roll call we drew one days rations and ordered to strike tents pack kanpsacks and be ready to move in three quarters of an hour but we did not get off untill [sic] about seven AM. It was not quite daylight yet. we marched very slow and rested often in the fore part of the day but we moved faster in the afternoon we came back the road that we went last Thursday as far as White oak church and then turned to the left and when we was near the church we received orders to load our guns. This is the first that we ever loaded our guns except when we was on picket at tennally town (which was Sept 2nd) we have marched through Maryland and part of Virginia with empty guns.
