Cloudy most of the day. _____ rain in the morning. Went to the front with a days pork for the brigade and some ____ for sale to officers. Got through and back to park about eight oclock about half past eight. There was a terrible roar of musketry and artillery. Suppose that the rebels are making a charge on our lives. The firing continued about half an hour. Capt Converse(?) went to the white house after supplies. Sergt. Woodmiff got back with his train today. Sent four days rations to the front for the first ____ cavalry.
