4th Sunday
Clear and very pleasant
we were under way all
night and passed Fortress
Monroe about four this morning
the rest of our division
anchored near Fort Monroe
last night. they all passed
us during the forenoon
we had since on board
the morning Chaplain,
Proudfit presiding
we arrived at city point
and disembarked about
three oclock. the division
camped one mile from the river
the baggage was loaded on the cars
and taken to parker station Just
in rear of the fifth corps
I came up with the baggage picket firing can be heard as usual
