5th Monday
this morning about eight oclock orders came to move across the river. Crossed on the on bridge and parked on the heights above Sandy Hook. Three days rations was Sent back across the river.
There was a horse race this afternoon Capt. Conven (Converse ?) Sorrel horse and Capt Daniels Bayfor fifty dollars a side Capt Daniels bay won the money. dull and cloudy most of the day. In the evening it commiced (commenced) raining very hard
