Light showers in the morning and evening. Came in sight of land about noon.
Got to the wharf at Hilton Head at twelve tonight. Saw the steeple in Charleston
Tuesday Aug 1st
Left the boat at Eight o'clock went to the sea island Hotel Kept by _
proprietor of the Astor House New York. Several showers during the day. Went to
the theatre
