Jan. 17th, Sunday.
Clear and quite cold today. Had Roast chicken today for dinner. Got
a horse and went to Bagmen's (?) Battrey. Saw Charles Stockbower, Wm. and
Gur (?) Nolan and other acquaintances. Went on down to the second Jersey
Brigade and had a pleasant time. Got back about dark. The roads are very
muddy.
18th, Monday.
Rainy all day. Issued two days rations. Supply train went to the
station. Have a heavy cold settled in my breast.
