29th Friday
Clear and very warm-
Started about nine A.M.
passed through Jefferson
Petersville, Knoxville
Weaverton Sandy Hook (Md)
and parked just above
the latter place.
Three of us went ahead
of the train and got in the
river at harper Ferry before
any of the train stopped (?)
Laid down on a bale of
hay. and slept until twelve
oclock. When we woke up there
wer (sic) no trains passing (?) Supposed
that our trains had not gone
across. went back to Sandy Hook
could not find them Carne back
and crossed the river. found the
22nd & 3rd Division on the hill above
the . Slept in a door yard
29th Friday
