Sept 23rd Wensday Clear and pleasant today. the nights are quite cold now there is a man to be shot in the first regiment on Friday next. Issued one days rations No more talk of moving
24th Thursday Clear and quite warm today In the afternoon there was some horse racing near our quarters by the officers of our Brigade Before the race was over orders came to move in twenty minutes. In the meantime I had to issue one days rations and see to loading the wagons. got all packed up and ready to start but did not get off. put up our tents again Drew a blanket to-day.
