17th Thursday Clear .and pleasant to-day the roads were very bad fields . Struck the Culpeper turnpike about 3 miles from Culpeper. vle onl y went about three quarters of a mile after getting on the pike parked in an open field about half a mil e from the brigade Issued two days rations had a very nice shower just before dark.
18th Friday Rained very hard in the morning drew stores at Culpeper today Issued one days rations Received a letter from Samuel Sidmen and heard heavy canonading during the day.
