March 23 Thursday

Cloudy but no rain. The wind has blown very hard all day __ up and __ and Blowing down chimneys. Five trees at these headquarters (1st Div . 6 Corps) have shown.

The dust blew so that it was almost impossible to see at all. A very large fire broke out today between the two picket lines.

March 24 Friday

Clear & very pleasent filled up provision ___ for Lieut Emerson today. Got a pass to City Point. Good for the balance of the month. Am going down tommorow to draw commissary property. received a letter from mother.
