(Thursday continued) the trees just in front of his house. It is a splendid place for a headquarters but the teams are no better off than they was before. In the afternoon I took two wagons and went to the brigade and issued one days of bacon Hard bread coffee sugar – two wagons went to the station. They say that everything is moved from there and the buildings are being torn down. Just at night there came an order from brigade headquarters for all of the provost guard to report there. They have been with the wagons all the times[?] Our Commissary guards belong to them and they had to go too. About four PM I went in to Fairfax. It has been a very nice place at one time
