April 10th Friday
Clear and pleasant today it is the most like spring of any day that we have had yet. This afternoon while colored Joe was riding Capt Wheelans horse from the tent to the states[?] the horse on a dead run he stumbled and truned a complete somerset [sic]. the horse hurt himself some but did not hurt the negro. Issued to the brigade today

Clear and pleasant today Brigade drill today General Torbert commanding. Received a letter from Jasen Sidman Supply train went to the landing
