March 23rd Monday
Clear and quite warm today. Business very brisk Capt Fitts came back today. Saw that there was a big fire in newton last Friday, folks are all well. He brought a horse with him for NP Cook[?] [illegible]
24th Tuesday
It is cloudy to day but did not commence to rain untill [sic] about dark. The supply train went to the landing today The captain bought a grey horse[?] to day. [illegible] came back today
