Thursday Weather pleasant today heavy artillery firing on our right today camp rumors say that the rebels have [illegible] near Kellys Ford [illegible] thirity to sixty thousand strong also that the [sic] are being driven back by our [illegible] under General[?] Seigel
20th Friday
Our cook went home today on furlough for ten days It commenced to snow last night and continued nearly all day today the New York herald [illegible] came in camp today (date 19th) given particulars of the fight of Kellys Ford five miles above Falmouth
