15th Monday
we laid in the gully all day with our equipment on and ready to leave at a moments notice but we did not have to move any In the afternoon some of our boys went down to where the 27th was and then on in to the town they brought back various things with them. They said that the houses was nearly all deserted but the furniture and all the things was in them yet. In one house was a piano with stool and music books. It seemed to have been left in a hurry.
