Our Regt passed through the place about ten months ago. Saw the Vice President Hannibal Hamlin. He was just getting out of his coach at the United States hotel in boonesborough. he was escorted By a lot of cavalry. his coach was drawn by four large gray horses. When we got to funkstown we found that the brigade had gone on to Williams port. We followed right on with the wagons. the last of the rebels crossed about 8 AM.
