It was snowing very hard and the wind was blowing strong from the north east drifting the snow very much. Today being Washington’s birth day it was to have been celebrated by a Brigade dress parade at 12 M and a salute of thirty two Guns to be fired by a battery from Newtons division. The salutes was fired but the parade was dispensed with on account of the storm. at time of my writing (9PM) it is snowing hard yet. It is very deep and drifted very much.
